Glenn Malcolm recognized RAS members Smoke Yokum and Tom Sargent for their overall assistance and fact-finding efforts related to obtaining permanent site property for the club.
Glenn also recognized and presented an award to Paul and Mary Livio for their generous contribution of 5 acres of land to the organization.
Glenn then spoke about the Landers site development, and the estimated costs involved. A 3 to 5 year plan will involve site cleanup, fencing (~$1200), a well (~$8,000 to $12,000), electricity service (~$4,000), septic system (~$6000) and eventually a mobile home/clubhouse ($10,000 to $25,000). He asked for members to pledge some donations to cover the costs of some of these first projects. By the end of the meeting, almost $12,000 was pledged by our very generous membership. Good job Glenn! Bob Stephens displayed a model he constructed of the Landers property, showing the roads and some structures we hope will be built in the future.
Bill Seavey read off a list of a dozen or so new members, most of whom signed up on the web site. He requested that all renewals be completed by August 31, or present members will be dropped from the mailing list. Membership renewal is running at about 78%. In celebration of our newly acquired property, a cake was cut. Thanks Pam!
