Imaging the Desert Skies

at the RTMC Nightfall Event

This two-day imaging conference and workshop, held in a luxury resort in conjunction with Nightfall 2008, features beginners, intermediate, and advanced workshops on Astronomy and Astro-Imaging.

  

Craig Stark, a neuroscientist by day, founded Stark Labs to bring powerful, easy to use, and purpose-built tools to amateur astrophotographers. He brought the amateur community PHD Guiding and DSLR Shutter for data acquisition, Nebulosity and a number of other programs for capture and processing. The programs produced by Stark Labs aim to bring advanced imaging techniques within the reach of amateurs, in easy to use and either free or very affordable packages. He will be on the imaging field at night, and will present an all-day workshop Saturday. His sessions are hands on, with ample opportunity for questions and interaction.


Bring your camera and computer. This workshop is limited in enrollment.

Participants may also enjoy other workshops and activities offered this Nightfall weekend. These will include imaging workshops for the beginner in Photoshop, equipment selection, and basic imaging techniques, solar viewing, and topics of interest to the visual observer.

  

You may register to attend all of the workshops, including Stark, or only for the general workshops. Some general workshops will be in progress during the Stark workshop. Members of the Riverside Astronomical Society enjoy discounted prices. If you are not yet a member, you may become one for an introductory price of $20. This is a full privilege membership, including newsletters, club discounts, and dark-sky site use and is valid until June 2009.
